Claire de Lune was founded over 15 years ago in Lima, Peru. Our founder, Carmen Glaser, had one thing in mind when it all started. To improve people’s sleep by crafting the finest sleepwear in the world with Peruvian Pima Cotton.
She believed the key to great sleep was not just about wearing wonderful pajamas but also about the best practices before going to bed. For example, a hot shower and a light meal several hours prior to going to sleep. Overall it is about slowing down at the end of the night. Taking a pause to rest and meditate on your thoughts. This is what our logo is inspired by. The "C" in Claire de Lune's logo is an inverted fermata. In musical notation, this symbol indicates a point of rest.
The company name was also inspired by the classical Masterpiece, composed by Claude Debussy, “Clair de Lune”. Carmen wanted her clients to feel like they were "sleeping on clouds". This is why she chose to work with Peruvian Pima Cotton. It is an all-natural fiber that is extremely breathable and light. The finest raw materials are combined with our attention to detail. We intend our guests to leave the store feeling refreshed, relaxed, and most importantly eager to sleep.
